Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet has lead tributes to his co-star Ann Morgan Guilbert following her death on Tuesday (14Jun16).
Guilbert, best known for playing Millie Helper on The Dick Van Dyke Show, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 87, it was reported on Wednesday (15Jun16).
Following the news, Stonestreet took to social media to remember Guilbert, who once appeared as his onscreen character Cameron's grandma in the hit TV comedy. He paid tribute to the actress, sharing a still of her on Twitter, and writing, "RIP Ann Morgan Guilbert. You were so funny for so long and I was proud you were Cam's grandma."
The Wonder Years actor Fred Savage also paid tribute tweeting, "We lost one of the greats yesterday. Ann Guilbert Morgan (sic) was one of the funniest people on TV for over 60 years," while Juan Pablo Di Pace, who stars in Fuller House, posted, "#AnnMorganGuilbert has brought me so much joy. Rest in Peace, Ann. Your talent will missed," followed by a heartbroken emoji.
Guilbert was also well known for playing Fran Drescher's elderly grandmother, Yetta Rosenberg, on hit U.S. comedy The Nanny. She also had TV credits in shows including The Partridge Family, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Grey's Anatomy, and Getting On. She last appeared on TV earlier this year in James Brolin's comedy Life In Pieces (16).
